Starting the day at Burtonport harbour we will take the short (15 min) but truly stunning ferry crossing to Arranmore Island. From the ferry you can enjoy the wonderful sea birds as they fly over head to rest on the varied uninhabited islands. The ferry lands in the bustling harbour of Arranmore (home to some 500 residents) here we will begin our 3-4 hour looped walk of the island. Heading north east this walk enjoys spectacular views out over the Atlantic as well as the neighbouring islands and mainland. Stopping for a picnic lunch at the northern most point at Arranmore lighthouse it is hard not to feel at one with nature on this quiet edge of the island. After lunch we will take a south westerly route along the more sandy coast as well slowly see more of the rural village life, idilic cottages and roaming sheep. This is the perfect tour for those looking to soak up the setting of rural island life as well as enjoy the stunning sights and it's abundant nature. A moderate walk of 3-5 hours. This walk can be enjoyed by those of a basic to moderate level of fitness. (Please bring a packed lunch & water)
